How it runs
We design to each platform's own conventions rather than shipping one layout twice. An Android user and an iPhone user expect different things from navigation, and an app that ignores that reads as a website in a wrapper.
The store review process is ours to handle. Both stores reject builds for reasons that have nothing to do with whether the app works: a missing privacy declaration, a permission you request without explaining, a screenshot at the wrong size. We have been through it and we budget time for it rather than treating a rejection as a surprise.
Releases go out staged, to a percentage of users first, with crash reporting watched. An app is not a website: a bad release cannot be rolled back in a minute, and some people will stay on it for months.
What it costs to get wrong
A one star review left in the first week outlives the bug that caused it. Store listings show the running average, and early ratings from a rocky launch keep dragging on it long after the app is good.
