What managed means
The part that is not the server
Anybody can rent you disk space. What an organisation is actually buying is that the thing stays up, stays safe, takes the load, and that somebody is answerable for all three.
-
Security, managed
Patching, SSL issued and renewed, DDoS filtering and email protection. Applied on a schedule rather than when something goes wrong.
-
Backups that have been restored
Daily backups, and restores tested rather than assumed. A backup nobody has restored from is a file, not a recovery plan.
-
Capacity sized to your load
Shared, cloud or dedicated, chosen against your actual traffic and applications rather than a tier list. It moves when you outgrow it.
-
Uptime somebody owns
Monitored around the clock, with a named lead and tickets in the client portal. You are not filing a report into a general inbox.
Infrastructure
What every package runs on
- NVMe storage
- NGINX caching
- SSL issued and renewed
- Daily backups
- DDoS filtering
- Email protection
- 24/7 monitoring
Certificates, domains and email
The pieces around the hosting
Every SSL certificate encrypts to the same standard. What separates them is how much of your organisation the issuer checks before it puts its name to yours, and how many addresses one certificate covers.
-
Domain validated
The padlock, on one domain. The issuer checks you control the address and nothing else. Right for a personal or small business site.
-
Wildcard
One certificate covering every subdomain you have and every one you add. Right for a startup running several.
-
Organisation validated
Your organisation checked and named inside the certificate, so a visitor can see who they are dealing with. Right for SMEs and shops.
-
Multi-domain
One certificate covering several separate domains, rather than one each.
-
Extended validation
The strictest identity check there is, with your legal entity verified. Right for banks, fintech and anything holding money.
-
Domains and mailboxes
Registration and renewal, business email on your own domain, and mailbox backup. Included with a package or bought on their own.
Each hosting package includes a domain and the certificate issued, installed and renewed for you. Which level suits you depends on whether visitors need to see that your organisation was checked, which is worth two minutes on a call. Ask us.
How NordHosting works
-
Tell us what you run
Traffic, applications, mailboxes and where it is hosted now. We size the plan against that rather than a checkbox list.
-
We quote and provision
A written quote, then registration, migration, SSL, mailboxes and monitoring, set up by us.
-
We run it
Patching, backups, restores and uptime monitoring, with a named lead and tickets in the client portal.
Hosting questions
No, and that is deliberate. Which package fits depends on your traffic, your applications and what you are running now, and the domain has to be checked and registered against your organisation. Tell us what you have and we send a written quote, usually within one working day.
Packages run on our own VPS infrastructure and reseller capacity in the UK and EU, with support handled by our team in Nigeria.
Yes. Migration is included in setup: we move your site, mailboxes and DNS with a planned cut-over so nothing is lost in between.
Patching, SSL issued and renewed, daily backups with tested restores, DDoS filtering, email protection and monitoring around the clock. It is included in the annual price rather than sold as an add-on.
Card or bank transfer, billed in naira, annually. Each package has one price and it covers the year.
Daily backups, DDoS filtering and monitoring around the clock are on every package, and you can raise a ticket in the client portal at any time.
Ready to move your hosting?
We migrate existing sites and mailboxes ourselves, so nothing goes down and nobody loses an email in the process.
Migrations are handled by us at no extra charge. We reply within one working day.
